Below there are two maps representing small town Islip layouts. The first one shows its current centre now, whilst the second displays future plans for its modernization and development. Looking from an overall perspective, it is clear that that the town will become more accessible with additional ring road around it.
In the present day, the main road, located from west till east, goes through the shops. The present plan would move the main road to the dual carriageway road making the zone of shops pedestrians only. Instead of shops located close to the countryside in the north, there will be a bus station, large shopping centre and a carpark. Additionally, there would be new housing in the north-east with access to the ring road.
In the easternmost part of the town there is currently a quite vast park which will stay unaltered later, however may become slightly smaller. This will be done to locate even more housing near it. School will now be behind the road in the south-west part of the town. Moreover, on the south-east next to the school would be housing.
