The maps are given to compare how a zoo located in Australia transformed between 1960 and the present. Overall, it is clear that the zoo has been changed with the introduction of new facilities: a cable car, a ferry, new entrances in the south and north, wild animals. The main alterations were that the majority of facilities, including the area for African animals, a harbour, and a seal show, have been transported to new places. Notably, areas for chimpanzees and birds were removed. A gift shop has been enlarged.
Looking at the maps in detail, in the first picture, as soon as visitors entered the museum, they could face three small paths, which led to main facilities, including areas for African animals, Australian animals, chimpanzees, birds, and a seal show. On the south side, people could see a gift shop, and a harbour situated to the east above. The picnic area was located on the east side of the zoo.
In the present, the zoo has seen significant changes, with the construction of a cable car to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the space, which is located near the picnic area. On the north side, a ferry has been brought in and an entrance has been constructed. Similarly, a new entrance has been opened in the south. A harbour has been transported from east to west, and the area for African animals, which was originally located on the north-west side of the picture, has been moved to the center, replacing the former position of the area for wild animals. Also, a seal show has been transported to the center behind the African animals. A gift shop has been enlarged in order to attract more people.
