The map illustrates the present southside shopping mall, and the future development that will take place. Overall, it is clear that the plan is to extend the centre, providing more space for vehicles to park, as well as allowing more stores to open focusing on fashion.
Currently, the southside mall consists of only a supermarket, department store, cinemas, a noodle shop, play area, cafe and toilet facilities. However, to the east of the centre there are outdoor activities available such as golfing areas, and parks where customers can also enjoy the fresh air, while on the south, a fitness centre is located opposite the car park near the entrance.
According to the proposal, only the supermarket, toilets and entrance will remain from the original site. The most significant development will be the extension of the mall, extending to the east side of the area, where it will overtake land that was previously for outdoor activities. The fitness areas too will be demolished to make way for the car park which will more than double in size. Inside the mall, near the entrance, the cafe will now be replaced with an information center, while the play area is proposed to be renovated and a beauty salon will be built. Furthermore, the planned innovation will allow more stores including fashion boutique and shoe stores, while the department store will remain , increasing in size and acquiring its own entrance.
