The floorplans illustrate the layout of the ground floor of the library in 2001, with the changes that had been implemented by 2009.
Overall, all the bookshelves were reorganized and divided into more genres, along with the addition of some new modern facilities..
Looking at the map in 2001, after entering the library, the librarian’s desk was placed in front of visitors, along with the stair on the right hand-side. 8 6-seater tables were distributed equally in 2 rows, positioned in the center of the ground floor and aligned with the librarian’s desk, surrounded by bookshelves in different categories including fiction in the back, self help and history on the left side and newspaper and periodicals on the right side in between 2 indoor trees.
By 2009, the librarian’s desk had been moved closer to the left side of the entrance, aligned with 4 14-seater tables in a row. The fiction category has been moved to the left shelf and replaced by children’s books. Historical books are moved next to fictional books, along with new genres such as self help, kitchen, economics, law. The shelf for newspaper and periodicals had been replaced by films and DVDs along with the disappearance of the trees on both sides. Computers were the only facility added to the library with 4 of them were place near the stairs.
