The two maps illustrate the changes in an area before and after the construction of a hydroelectric power plant.
Overall, it can readily be observed that the area has undergone a significant transformation from a rural landscape into a multifunctional city – particularly suitable for tourists, water-based recreation, and power generation. The original river, which previously split into two banks in the northwest and the northeast, has been converted into a large lake with a hydroelectric dam. This lake now not only serves as a stock of water but also enables various facilities. Although some original zones have remained intact, others have been removed at the expense of new facilities.
Before the project, the area used to have a straightforward layout. The center of the area was occupied by a river flowing from north to south, adjacent to which were mountains to the northeast and farmland to the east. The national park was located near the forest on the western side, behind the historic castle. The village was located in the southeast corner of the area.
After construction, the area has seen complete changes, with the exception of the forest, village, and mountains, which have remained in their original positions. The western space, once occupied by a national park and the historic castle, now accommodates a power plant and transmission towers. The farmland has been transformed into a hotel, allowing travelers to settle. The top part of the river has been changed into a lake, which has expanded in size, thereby providing opportunities for sailing and fishing. The hydroelectric dam has been built in the middle of the river, controlling the water and producing energy.
