The maps compare the layout of a village in 1910 and in 2010.
Overall, the Shalton village had undergone significant changes to accommodate the residents’ needs. Additionally, the most noticeable change was the demolishment of certain amenities for the construction of houses.
Concerning the development of this area, in the initial year, there used to be plenty of trees, especially in the center of the village, which was separated from the outside by three roads forming a triangle. Meanwhile, a large house was surrounded by those trees . However, locals built their accommodations on the original place of these facilities, with the grocery functioning as a cafe. On the west side of the village, there used to be an educational establishment, trees, a butcher and a house. After a century, only the school and trees remained intact, while the first two infrastructure was replaced by a supermarket and a bank respectively.
As for the east side, more trees were planted compared to the year 1910, houses were downsized but continue to exist at the same spots as well as the post office. Regarding the south part of the area, the number of accommodations multiplied from two to four over 100 years.
