The two maps illustrate the change in Frenton between 1990 and 2012.
Overall, Frenton experienced considerable changes during the period shown. The most noticeable differences between two maps are the expansion of the hospital and the replacement playing fields with trees, houses and café and park.
The school area in the northwest remained the same. However, the playing fields with trees and trees areas were cleared to make way for blocks of flats and a technopark, respectively. Besides, the bank was demolished and replaced by restaurants. The hospital was significantly extended. The library next to the high street remained stable.
Turning to the other features, we can see that the northeastern flats area disappeared, while the café and park, theater and houses were replaced by hotel, cinema and golf courses and blocks of flats, respectively. The supermarket took the place of the shop in the southeast. Northeastern, flats were constructed next to the blocks of flats.
