The maps give information about how Frenton was transformed over a 22-year period, starting from 1990.

In general, the layout of the town experienced significant changes, especially on the eastern side. Many areas in Frenton were rearranged with the appearance of some new facilities, as well as the contraction and the disappearance of others.

Specifically, from 1990 to 2012, the bank was replaced by a restaurant, which was situated opposite the hospital. In 2012, the residential area in the east of the town was demolished and the playing fields with trees were chopped down to make way for blocks of flats. Plus, more blocks of flats were constructed on the vacant land immediately to the right of High Street. Additionally, the café and park area adjacent to the housing sector vanished, replaced 22 years later by a hotel and golf course.

In the southwest, the wooded area was completely replaced by a technopark. The theatre and shops at the bottom of the map were converted into a cinema and a supermarket, respectively. Nonetheless, the locations of the library and school remained unchanged.
