The map shows the development of Frenton from 1990 to 2012. Overall it can be seen that there were some buildings that experienced replacement and expansion, with the school and library remaining unchanged over the years.
Initially on the east side of High Street, there was a café and park in 1990, then it transformed to a hotel and golf course after twenty two years. Meanwhile the prior residentials constructed into blocks of flats. Just below the complex, the theater and shops changed into a cinema and supermarket respectively. Lastly, in the north area just right near the road, new flats were built.
Furthermore, in the west side of High Street, the bank had been demolished, making way for a new restaurant and technopark, while the school and library remained in both periods. In 1990 there were playgrounds with trees to the north of the town. By 2012, these playing fields had been replaced with blocks of flats. Meanwhile, the only building that has been expanded in size is hospital.
