The two maps illustrate some changes in the way buildings and leisure facilities were placed in Frenton between 1990 and 2012. Overview, through each period the geography of each place may be changed a lot in the future.
In 1990, Frenton had more natural places such as playing fields for local people who lived there and trees growing. However, in 2012, this city lacked these natural places because trees were cut down. A technopark and blocks of flats replaced the trees at the top and the end of the area. In the middle of the illustration, the bank changed into a restaurant. Looking at other features, we can see that the distance between the hospital and the library in 2012 is not as far as in the past. Besides that, the hospital in 1990 was very small, but now it has expanded over the street. It is clear that there are major differences in road access to this hospital. Only the school was unchanged and it still remains similar to the past.
On the left side of the maps, there appear to be more flats at the top of the area. And the shops in the corner of the map turned into a supermarket. Between the street and the supermarket was a theatre, but it became a cinema in 2012. From 1990 to 2012, the most striking change is the appearance of two cafes, and parks upgraded into a new hospitality facility with a hotel and golf course. Houses turned into blocks of flats with additional flats next to them to accommodate more people.
