The maps illustrate how a plan of a city has changed between 1950 and the present. Overall, the area has experienced a significant development and urbanization. Residential and business areas have expanded considerably, while new transport and water facilities have been added.
In 1950, the city was relatively small, with a residential area located to the north of a business district. There was also an airport in the eastern part of the map, whereas a river ran from the west to the south with a bridge crossing it in the centre. Moreover, a government building was located to the south of the bridge.
At present, both the residential and business districts have expanded significantly. The residential area now occupies most parts of the city, while the business district has grown and extended further to the south. A lake has been created in the western part of the city and a dam has been constructed in the east. Furthermore, a second bridge has been added across the river, improving access to the airport, which has been enlarged. Finally, the original government building has remained unchanged, while an additional one has been built just below it.
