Looking at the illustration, it is immediately evident that the city has undergone a dramatic expansion in both size and population. While in 1950, the city was relatively small with limited facilities, nowadays it has grown significantly with a tenfold increase in population, expansion of residential areas, and the appearance of new infrastructure such as bridges, a dam, and a lake.
In 1950, the city was home to only 20,000 people, and most of the development was concentrated around the business district located in the center; other areas mostly vacant. Surrounding this district was a relatively small residential area mainly on the northern side of the river. A bridge connects the northern and southern parts of the city, with a government building positioned just south of it. Additionally, a major road crosses the city from the northeast to the southwest, linking it with the airport situated to the east.
By now, the population has increased dramatically to 200,000, leading to major urban developments. The residential area has expanded considerably, covering almost. The river has been modified with the construction of a dam in the southeast, creating a large artificial lake. Two additional bridges have been built across the river to improve transportation and connectivity. Moreover, new housing and infrastructure have spread widely, while the central business district and government buildings have remained in the same places as before. The main road system has also been extended to accommodate the growth, and the airport remains to the east of the city.
