The maps provide detailed information about changes in one rural town since 1983. Overall, it is clear that there has been a dramatic transformation from a rural area to a suburban place, with the introduction of housing for residents and commercial centers. However, some areas have remained unchanged over the given period.
In 1983, the town had a relatively simple layout. There was a residential area with several houses to the west. To the northwest, there was a forest consisting of a wide range of trees. While the school was situated north of the road, a police station and a post office, separated by the River May, were located to the south. A shop was located to the northeast, and a farm was on the east side of Munster Road, going south from the main road. In addition, a windmill was located to the south.
By now, the town has experienced significant changes. After demolishing the forest, housing areas have been expanded by adding a high road. To the north, a Dam has been introduced at the source of the River May. Moreover, the shop has been converted into a big supermarket. The farm has been replaced with a petrol station and a café. Despite these changes, some original features such as the school, police station, post office, windmill, and roads have remained intact.
