The diagrams compare the current layout of an industrial area in Norbiton city with its proposed development. Several modifications are planned, the most noticeable being the removal of eight factories, the expansion of roads, the addition of housing along with supporting facilities such as shops, a medical centre, a school, and a playground, as well as the reduction of farmland. The town, located to the west of the industrial complex, will remain unchanged.
Comparing the two maps, the industrial facilities located to the north of the straight lane will be replaced by housing, with a playground nearby. The two industrial units to the south of this street will be reconstructed into the largest residential complex. At the eastern end of the road, a school will be built. The three production buildings surrounding the roundabout will be removed. Shopping centres will be built in the factory area located on the southwest of the roundabout, while a medical centre will be added to the southeast.
Further changes include the construction of new roads and residential buildings. One new housing estate will be built north of the river, occupying part of the existing farmland. A new bridge and road will connect the new estate to the roundabout, with an additional housing complex situated on the west side of this additional access. Additionally, two more residential zones will be built northeast of the roundabout, along a connecting road. A smaller roundabout is also planned to the south of the existing one.
