The maps illustrates the transformation of the Greendale town centre between 2000 and 2020. Overall, the significant changes were seen in town’s facilities; the car park had been by shopping mall, the new sports centre was constructed in the place of farmland, and residential area had been replaced with public park.
In 2000, there was a large car park in the centre of the area, and the shopping area was situated to the south of it. In the west, there was a residential area, while farmland occupied the eastern part. By contrast, the main road ran across in the northern side of the area, with bus stop, which positioned alongside of the road.
By 2020, the car park had been replaced with a shopping mall, and the shopping area was expanded in size. In the west, the residential area was converted into a public park. Over the period, a new sport centre was built in the place of old farmland. Ultimately, the bus stop was transformed into a bus station, and a cycle lane was added along the main road.
