Generally, it is clear that Hungtingdon experienced a significant modernization. Most noticeably, the elimination of airfield, the introduction of industrial estate, 2 railway connecting industrial estate to the main railway, a roundabout connecting to railway station, Brampton road, and town centre, a new road A14 link A1 road and ring road which surrounded town centre.
To begin with, the road system will have been massively upgraded, the A1 road intersects Brampton road, transforming into a roundabout roughly in the middle of Huntingdon link with town centre and railway station. At the A1 term, a branch of road connect to the airfield which was demolished to replaced by the industrial estate. Regarding rail, there are 2 small branches of rail that will link to industrial estate. The new road A14 runs through to the south and intersects with A1 road and the road which links to ring road. The Brampton road will disconnect to A1 road.
Furthermore, the rail in the south-west of the Huntingdon and ring road which bordered the town centre, separating it to built up area remained. Whereas, the railway station in close proximity to A1 road stayed uncharged.
