The maps illustrate the current layout and how it is going to change in the future of Huntingdon.
Overall, the town is planned to have some significant changes, most will be the development of traffic infrastructure and the construction of an industrial zone.
Regarding the present time, Huntingdon town centre is encircled by a railway line that separates built-up area, homes, shops and other facilities from the surrounding area. Besides, the ring road is connected with Brampton road and A1 road which runs from east to west and is connected with an airfield, respectively. Meanwhile, the A14 highway can only be accessed via a roundabout on the A1. Finally, the railway station is located just south of the Brampton Road underpass.
In the future, the major places of Huntingdon will remain unchanged including the town center and surrounding area. However, the most noticeable development is the addition of a roundabout at the junction of Brampton Road and the A14. Furthermore, the A14 is also set to be rerouted to directly link with both the ring road and the A1, not only can be accessed to the roundabout of A1 road like before. Lastly, the airfield now will be replaced by an industrial estate.
