The given map illustrates the changes that occurred in Lakeside beginning in 2000 and ending in 2009. The noticeable change is that residential areas were reduced in number; furthermore, the lake transformed into a pond.
In 2009, residential areas were replaced by a shopping centre next to cinema and school and an industrial complex which was located in the southeast of the river. This complex was expanded by demolishing the residential area to add more different sectors. In addition, the water level of the lake decreased, transforming into a pond; however, a river was running the same route from north to south of the town without change.
In the first map, there were an art center, an old town, and a derelict warehouse, which transformed into different areas for various activities. For instance, the old town was replaced by offices which were opposite residential area and a university located across the pond. A car park was opened instead of where the derelict warehouse. Finally, the type of activities in the art centre was reduced to one activity, namely a cinema.
