The maps illustrate the changes that occurred in an American town between 1948 and 2010.
It is clear that the town underwent several significant infrastructural developments over the period of 62 years. However, the petrol station and the residential area in the south eastern part remained unchanged.
In the year 1948, there were six residential houses in the central part of the map. These were replaced by two large buildings and various structures in 2010. Additionally, the factories at top right corner and the swimming pool in the middle were replaced with an airport, and a supermarket, with three commercial buildings newly added in between.
Moreover, the local supermarket on the western side was replaced by two commercial buildings. The canal system was completely removed and the church was also demolished, making a way for a sports stadium. Apart from these, no changes were made to the residential on the south-eastern part and the petrol station on the top of the town.
