The plans illustrate how the first floor of an art gallery changed in 2005 and present day.
Overall, the art gallery was totally transformed. In addition, several facilities and rooms were added.
In 2005, visitors could enter the art gallery hall through the main entrance to the south. There was a reception desk far from the hall and in front of the stairs at the back. On the west wing side, there were three exhibition rooms side by side. On the opposite side, there were three rooms named Cafe, Gallery Office, and Exhibition Room 4. In detail, Cafe was located upper the west corner and next to the gallery office. Exhibition room 4 was the largest room on the west wing, taking up the entire southwest corner in the Art Gallery in 2005.
At present, the art gallery has experienced several changes. There was a wheelchair ramp added outside and led to the entrance. Especially, the reception desk was moved to the middle of the grand hall, which was convenient for visitors. In 2005, there were only stairs to go up the upper floor, but at present visitors can move upstairs by a lift next to the stairs. The exhibition rooms 1-3 were remained on the right-hand side. Furthermore, the west wing of the art gallery was most noticeably changed. Cafe was made smaller and converted into a gallery shop. The gallery office was demolished to make way for a vending machine next to the gallery shop. Finally, the exhibition room 4 was divided into two rooms: a temporary exhibition next to the vending machine and a children’s area on the lower left-hand side of the corner.
