The two floor plans illustrates how the ground floor layout of art gallery changed between 2005 and present day.
Overall, while basic structures remained unchanged, western structures and reception desk were changed with an adittion of lift on side of stair. Children’s area and temporary exhibitions area were added in the current plan.
In both plans, entrance remained at the central area of south with steps. In 2005 stairs leaded to entrance hall followed by rectangular reception desk whereas, in present days circular table is placed before heading to entrance hall. Similarly, stair to upper floor is on the middle of the northern part. Though positions of cafe and shop on left of stair and three exhibiton room on right remains untouched, on present map there is addition of a lift on right of stair attached to exhibition room.
Previously a gallery office was located at bottom of cafe which is now restructured with temporary exhibitions. Also, the fourth exhibition hall was replaced by children’s area reducing the area.
