The maps illustrate what changes took place in the functional space of a museum, comparing its appearance in 1988 and that of 2008. Overall, the museum became more recreational with the introduction of fountains, a restaurant, as well as an outdoor area for the cafe. Notably, many facilities, including the cafe, WC, and coatroom, remained intact over the years.
In 1988, in the center of the area there was a garden, with a cafe and tickets for exit and entrance located nearby. While the temporary exhibition room occupied the bottom left corner, the WC and coatroom were situated at the bottom right corner, next to which was a small shop.
By 2008, the museum was altered noticeably. While the previous garden located in the center was demolished to make way for fountains and a small space for an outdoor cafe, the ticket area remained unchanged. The cafe nearby stayed untouched as well, but it was decreased in size, and the WC room was relocated to the east of it. A new restaurant was built in the northwestern side of the map, whereas new shops and the old coatroom occupied the southwestern side, where the temporary exhibition room used to stand. Finally, the temporary room moved to the left side of the fountains.
