The diagrams illustrate the development of a Willington town from the year 1780 to 2000. Overall, it is clear that the town was initally sparsely populated, but later becoming residental place. The most significant developments were the construction of a bridge and the addition of a shop, school, wetland reserve and sports field.
In 1780, there was a river ran along in the left-hand side of the town. Additionally, four farms were situated next to the river and two villages included 100 homes were in close proximity to the farms. At the right bottom of the town corner laid many trees. By the year 1860, a new bridge had been constructed to help people easily access to both sides of the river. On the other hand, there had been an addition of a new village, which provided accommodation for 200 homes. A new road had been erected to leads from the river.
In 2000, the bridge and the road still remained intact, while a number of new shops lined up along the river. In addition, a wetland was established for conserving birds at the end of the river. There were more villages as well as sports fields and schools replaced the original place of trees, which meeting the needs of residents.
