The maps depict the transformations of Riverside Town over the two decades from 1995 to 2015.
It is evident that Riverside Town underwent significant transformations, with the most noticeable changes being the addition and expansion of commercial, residential, and transport facilities at the expense of vacant land.
In the northern part of the town, two apartment blocks were constructed along the river, replacing green areas. In addition, a shopping centre was built to the east of the bridge on land previously occupied by green space. Furthermore, a section of the road was reconfigured to improve access to these newly developed facilities.
Regarding the southern part, an open area was cleared to allow for the expansion of the transport infrastructure. Besides, the school was reduced in size to make way for the construction of a sports field. Additionally, shops were converted into a car park, resulting in the reduction of the nearby park. While the railway station remained unchanged throughout the surveyed period, a bus station was added adjacent to it.
