The two maps illustrate the city of Langley in the years of 1910 and 1950.
Overall, the given town changed from working city to place for comfortable life, growing kids.
As it can be seen from the maps, in 1910 Langley city had a large place occupied utterly by a factory along with a large wasteland. Moreover, in the north of the city another large wasteland can be seen, along with cottages for railway workers’. Whereas, just after 40 years this areas changed to the the great place which consisted of Sherman Mansion, laundry and cafe. Railway line was substituted with an area for children’s and park.
New flats were erected instead of old townhouses right along Jordan street. An organization of stores, cafe and laudry was changed to more convenient one, right in the east part of the Langley. An enormous park was introduced right in the center of the town.
