The plans illustrate how the layout of South Wing of Walton Museum changed from 2008 to 2012.
Overall the part of the museum experienced significant transformation over the period, with introduction of new fasilities and rearangement of old blocks. The final development of the museum generally became more welcoming and toursit-frendly.
In 2008, the site of Walton Musem featured its positions with two levels of floors, ground and underground floor. The entrance was on the ground floor in the reception area where reading room situated next to it. Between reception and reading room there were stairs leading to the underground floor. There the shops located on the left hand, while cloaks room on the right. The special exebition room was situated on the left side under the path way to entrance.
By 2012, the South With entirely changed with introduction of new floors. The path for entrance was then constructed into an entrace hall and reception combined with cloaks room, in order to make a may for children play area. In the second floor above the entrance the terrace was build with reastaurant block next to it. Self service room was constructed over the reading room, and new exibition room on the top of the self service room on the third floor. The stairs were replaced by lift, which gives access to all loors including underground.
