The two pictures illustrate the layout of the South Wing of Walton Museum in two particular years: 2008 and 2012.
Overall, it is clear that the museum underwent substantial changes. Notably, almost all initial places remained unchanged; however, there were new additions.
In 2008, there was an entrance that led to the reception area. In the following room, there was a reading room, where visitor could read a book; then, there were stairs that led to the first floor. Stairs were flanked by a shop and cloaks room, with a special exhibition room next to the shop.
Over a span of four years, significant alterations took place. The cloaks room was transitioned to the reception room; additionally, the previous place of the cloaks room was replaced by a children play area. In addition, entrance was enhanced to an entrance hall with a separate room. Terrace was added above it with a restaurant next to it. Above the reading room, however, a self-service and a new exhibition room were added; in addition, the stairs were replaced by a lift.
