Two map illustrate transformative advancements that taken place in the city of Stokeford, over the period between 1930 and 2010.
Overall, what stands out from both maps is that Stokeford has become much more developed and modern, with increased accommodations and amenities, as well as a reduction in farm areas.
In detail, if we look at the north-west of the village, one change is that shops, in a series, have been converted into housing areas, which enrich the reasidental capacity of the village. In 1930, there used to be a farmland between the River Stoke Road and the main road that runs alongside the facilities. However, it was dismantled for erecting purposes of new living spaces.
The eastern part of Stokeford has also witnessed remarkable transformations. The gardens in the east of Stokeford have been removed, and a large house has been replaced with new innovative retirement home and has become isolated from the main road. Furthermore, the primary school in the northeast of the village has been upgraded with two additional advanced sections, enhancing the city’s accessibility to educational opportunities. Finally, all these redevelopments marking a significant step in the village’s transition toward urbanization.
