The given two maps illustrate how the town of Lynnfield faced the changes between 1936 and 2007.

Overall, Lynnfield developed from a small town where were held the local shops and farmland which were increased into a modern area with more buildings, roads, and a large residential areas.

In 1936, the town had a few small shops such as a sweet shop, a butcher’s, a flower shop, and a post office. There was also a bank and a library. A cycle path and three trees were located and prolonged to the west, while the east side had a river and farmland. Government offices were held in the south of the town.

By 2007, many of these factors had been replaced. The sweet shop, butcher’s, and flower shop were removed and replaced by a supermarket and a shopping centre. A travel agent was also considered to be added. The post office, bank, and library stayed in the same places.

The farmland on the east side was changed into a large residential area, and a golf course was added nearby. The cycle path disappeared, and a new road was built in the west. Only one tree kept stable and the government offices were turned into a museum.
