The given map depicts the alterations made to the Lynnfield town in 31 years period. Overall, it is notable that almost everything except for fundamental buildings such as bank, library and post office has changed. Moreover, possibly due to overpopulation, the whole north-east area divided by a river was filled with households.
To start off, the city centre obtained by shops faced considerable changes. The flower shop was turned into a travel agent’s workplace, and the shop with sweets and meat was combined to become a supermarket. Finally, the open space right in the middle was used to constuct an enormous shopping mall. In 3 decades, another significant alterations was made to bottom right hand corner of the town. The old government offices opposite to the library became a museum. The farm land right next to it is used as Golf Court in 2007.
On the other hand, there is no new constructions in the west part of the city. The minor changes include the pathway which was dedicated for cycling in 1936 was rebuilt into a road for vehicles and the 3 trees were cut down to only 1 remaining.
