The provided illustrations showcase the changes in Lynnfield town between 1936 and 2007.
Overall, the town had become more modernized as modern facilities were constructed. Moreover, natural areas such as trees and farm land were demonlished to make way for modern buildings.
Regarding the central part of the town, this area existed in the intersection of four major roads. In 1936, on the top part, there used to be a sweet shop and butchers. They were replaced by supermarkets in 2007. However, a post office remained unchanged. On top of that, a shopping centre was built in 2007, adjacent to above buildings. On the lower side of this area, a bank and a library were still accessible by residents. However, a travel agent replaced flower shop in 2007.
Moving onto four surrounding areas of the central part, on the northeast corner, there used to be a river in 1936. In 2007, many residential buildings are erected alongside the river. On the left area of this cornor, many trees had been cut down. Furthermore, a cycle path had been transformed into a road on the southwest corner. Finally, farmlands were removed to make way for a golf course. Next to this facility, a government office were changed to a museum.
