The two maps provide information about how Frenton changed between 1990 and 2012.
Overall, the town has developed, with notable expansion in residential, commercial, and recreational facilities.
In 1990, the northern part of the town was occupied by houses and a large area of playing fields. By 2012, the playing fields of the town were replaced by blocks of flats. The houses in the northeastern part of Frenton remained unchanged throughout the period, while additional apartment buildings were constructed nearby. In addition, the café and park had been replaced by a hotel and a golf course. Furthermore, the theatre situated in the southern part of the town was transformed into a cinema, whereas the shops in the southeast corner were converted into a large supermarket.
In addition, the bank in the northwest side of Frenton was removed, and a new restaurant was built, at the same time, the trees were cut down where a techno-park was introduced in the south-west side. The size of the hospital was also expanded. Despite these changes, the school, library, and high street remained stable over the period.
