The maps illustrate how a museum and its surroundings changed in 1990 and 2010.
In general, it is noticeable that the museum underwent significant changes. Major transformations including the reduction of green space and exhibition areas, the expansion of the parking lot, and the addition of refreshment facilities, reflecting the establishment’s development.
In 1990, a main road was located at the bottom, from which visitors could enter the premises via an internal road in the lower middle. To the left of the road was a cottage, while a vast space shared by a garden and a parking lot was on the opposite side. From this point, visitors followed a small path adjacent to the parking area before reaching the entrance of the museum to their left hand side. This public facility in the upper left corner, a shop in the lower right and the remaining spacious area designated for exhibitions. Tourists who continued along the path instead of entering the museum would discover another large garden situated to its north.
In 2010, a main road was situated at the bottom, from which tourists could enter the premises through an internal road in the lower middle. To the left of the road, the cottage was demolished to make way for a new coffee shop to the south eastern, while a new car park was erected and replaced the garden was on the opposite side. From this point, tourists followed a small path next to the parking space before approaching the entrance of the museum to their left hand side. From this entrance, the shop was expanded, whereas the exhibition room was relocated in the north eastern corner of the museum. The store room in the north western corner of the museum and another large garden at the top still remained.
