The two maps illustrate the transformations of the the city of Nelson between 2000 and the present day.
Overall, it is evident that the city of Nelson underwent significant improvement, characterized by the construction of new facilities such as a restaurant, a new covered market, hall of residence, bars and clubs from 2000 to recent times. In addition, the train station was moved to another place and extended same to the city centre. Moreover, a park has been removed, and some roads were modified.
Ac can be seen in the table, in 2000 the city of Nelson consisted university which stayed unchanged in the present. Next to the university were a park and train station. The westside of the city centre had old market. Between the city centre and port was a road for machines.
By the present day, the east side and west side of the university have been constructed hall of residence and tramline. The park replaced was by new shopping centre, while, the train station to the west has been moved place to opposite to university and has also been transformed into new train station. Meanwhile, a city centre appeared bike rental scheme and on eastside has been built new covered market. A old market was converted into a new shop. In addition, the road for cars has been transformed into road for pedestrians. Northside of port has been constructed a restaurant, right side of the restaurant has been built bars and clubs. In summary, compared to the city of Nelson in 2000, Nelson now has undergone considerable transformation.
