The university remains in the same position, but the hall of residence has been added nearby, and a new shopping centre has been built to the east. The train station has been relocated southeast, and the old market has been replaced by a modern covered market, and a new shop has appeared west of bikr rental area. The city centre has been redesigned as a pedestrian-only zone to reduce traffic. Finally, the port has been transformed into a vibrant leisure hub featuring a restaurant as well as bars and clubs.
