Overall, it is evident that Edgewater City witnessed dramatic growth. In the city, demolished places and constructed new places.
In 1922, there were three streets called Pickman Street, West Street, and College Street. On the southeast side of Pickman Street was Phillip’s Park, and nearby this park was located West Church. In the centre of the city was located the Houses area, and in the corner of the city was located the University centre and Carter Library. Along the west street were located the Post Office, Saint Mary’s Hospital, and the Hall of Science.
In 1972, the Phillip’s Park and West Church were demolished, and there was built Houses area and Edgewater Stadium were built. Although the Carter Library and University Centre did not experience any changes, the West Shopping Mall and Philip’s Heights Apartments were constructed. While Saint Mary’s Hospital illustrated no major modification, the Hall of Science transformed into the Bleaker Hall of Law. Moreover, the Post office was converted into Alice’s diner.
In conclusion, it is clear that the city of Edgewater experienced major transformations.
