The two pictures show how much the coastal town of Pentland changed from 1950 to 2007.
Overall, the town went through many big changes, mainly the building of more houses, shops, and other places for people to use.
In the northwest, the industrial area from 1950 was turned into a large space for public activities. A park was built at the top, below it was a new multi-story parking lot, and a swimming pool was added in the middle of this area. At the bottom, a row of shops was built. In the southwest, only a small change happened—a cinema and a shop were added. Most roads in the center of the town stayed the same until 2007, except for a new road built along the Yacht Marina in the north, which used to be part of the sea.
On the other side, in the northeast, three new apartment buildings were built. The parking lot in the middle and bottom of this area was removed and replaced with shops. In the southeast, a large grassy area was divided into two equal parts, where new houses and a few shops were built, with a new road running through the center
