The pictures illustrate the changes that occurred in a corner of a town in the English countryside over a period of 25 years, from 1985 to 2010.
From an overall perspective, it is clear that the village has transformed into a small town during this period, with significant construction reducing the amount of farmland that once surrounded it.
In 1985, farmland predominated the village. At the center were two large buildings: Mansion Gardens and Mansion House, accompanied by an old factory along Woods Drive. The post office and farmhouse were located to the south of Mansion Lane. Additionally, at that time, numerous trees and livestock thrived due to the extensive farmland.
By 2010, the effects of industrialization and modernization had resulted in significant changes after 25 years. A new bridge had been established, and Mansion Lane was extended across the river, while a new road, Queens Drive, was constructed in the northern part of the area. Along this new road, many shops and a post office were added. The two large buildings from the past, Mansion House and the Old Factory, were replaced by a Care Home and Luxury Flats, respectively. In the southern part of the town, a park replaced the farmland, and new houses emerged on both sides of the lane.
