Overall, it is evident that the village underwent a dramatic transformation, evolving into a more modern settlement with increased infrastructure and amenities. However, this development came at the expense of green spaces, as all the trees were cut down and livestock areas were removed.
In 1985, the village was relatively small, surrounded by farmland and trees. There were two main roads on the western side of the map, Wood Drive and Mansion Lane, but they were limited by livestock areas. To the right of Wood Drive were the Mansion Gardens and Mansion House, while on the opposite side stood an old factory. In the southern part of the 1985 map, a farmhouse and a post office were located. Additionally, the River Wells flowed along the eastern side of the village.
The 2010 map clearly shows that the forest in the north of the village was cleared to make room for Queen Drive road and new, modern amenities. At the bottom of the map, Mansion Lane was extended over the river with the addition of a bridge. The old factory to the west of Wood Drive was converted into luxury flats. A notable change is the conversion of Mansion House into a care home. Another significant alteration is the replacement of the farmhouse with a park in the southern part of the village.
