The beach on the northwest side of the island has been permitted for swimming. The scientific research station has been demolished to allow for the construction of a hotel complex and swimming pool. Palms have been chopped down to make way for the construction of an open restaurant. Next to the restaurant, a BBQ area has been built. The natural spring on the northeast side of the island has not changed, but a new cafe has been erected close to the spring. The rocks have been untouched, but a new scenic lookout has been introduced. Notably, a cycle path has been constructed for walking around.
