The two maps illustrate how the outskirts of the town of Fosbury changed over a 35-year period from 1930 to 2015.
Overall, there was a considerable development in industrial and commercial activities over
these years and it has been gradually transformed from largely residential outskirts to mainly industrial area. The most notable change is the presence of warehouses in 2015 on the areas which were fields back in 1980. New roads and a traffic circle were constructed suggesting an improvement in connectivity and infrastructure development. Whilst the hotel remained as an outskirt’s amenity, the grocer’s shop and the residential proprieties that can be seen in the north-east area in 1980, no longer existed by 2015, having been replaced by a supermarket with a large car park.
By 2015, the housing estate has been extended to the west by adding new terraced houses which replaced the park that has been resized and relocated next to the complex. Fosbury had also substituted the two tennis courts with a sports centre with a car park in the south.
