The two maps illustrate how Nelson city has changed over the past 25 years.
Overall, the city built up more new places to improve living quality for residents there, such as places to shopping, entertaining, eating,… Moreover, the transportation was also enhanced more eco-friendly with the residents.
In the far north of the city, there were only a university with a forest at the east in 2000, but now a Hall of Residence appears at the west, while a new shopping centre replaced the forest. In addition, the train station is moved from the far west north to the middle of the area, to the south of the University.
In the central of this city, to the south of the train station to to wet-east street, there used to be an old market to the west, but in the present, that location is for the new shop, while it becomes covered market and locates at the east. Moreover, Bike Rental schem is added to the middle square. to the far south of this zone, the street for vehicles in the past is now rebuilt to served for pedestrians.
In the remain southern zone, a restaurant, some bars and clubs appears, respectively opposite the new shop and teh new market.
