The graph illustrates the number of 2 kinds of pets which are dog and cat owners in the UK over a period of 35 years, starting from 1980.
As is observed, at the beginning, cats weren’t as poppular as dogs but in next 10 years, its went up steadily and gradually. While the line of cat owners increased slowly, the line of dog owner fluctuated.
Between 1980 and 1995, Cat owners grew rapidly, from 8 millons to 21 in only 5 years. Besides that, Dog owners fluctuated, about 15 millions went up 17 then decreased by 2.
Rest of the period, the line of cat’s owners stayed constant for 5 years, after that it slowly rose in 15 years and it made 47 millions of owners. Also, the number of dog owners saw a considerable growth, which were doubled than the last 5 years. But it started falling down slowly to 39 millions.
It’s clear that the number of cat owners rose gradually but the dog one declined.
