The chart presents the count of Europeans impacted by four different kinds of noise pollution in 2007.
Overall, there are several irritating factors including traffic, trains, aircraft, and industry. It is so clear that traffic caused the most auditory disturbance among all the other mentioned distractions. At the same time, industrial sounds were the least to annoy people.
As it is seen in the chart, traffic took the first place in irritating people in both cities and rural areas during day and night, with a number of 68 million agitated citizens during day time in towns and 48 millions at night. Comparing to countrysides, it is almost half of these numbers but it is still the main disturbance, reaching a number of 35 millions in the day and 24 millions during the night.
On the other hand, noises that come from factories did not cause severe annoyance to habitants, it disturbed around one millions through day time and this number drops to quarter at night. However this factor nearly caused any problems in rural areas with a number of zero irritated individuals.
