Looking the picture more closely, one can see that the rate of car theft and house burglary had an upward trend while street robbery remained constant during the period
In terms of car theft problem, the percentage started at 0.4% in the first period, before soaring to 0.8% in the next 5 years and it continued to go up to 1% until 1980. In 1985, this figure peaked at 1.2% before decreasing significantly to around 0.9% by 1995. In the final period, this rate had downward trend swiftly, at about 0.8%. Regarding to house burglary issue, the rate of this sector is about 1% lower than car theft, at around 0.3% in 1970 and it slightly increased in the next 10 years. In addition, it witnessed a moderate rise in 1990, roughly 0.3% and declining to 0.4% in 2015
In contrast, the rate of street robbery did not change during the period, it just fluctuated between over 0.1%
