The table below informs us about the percentage of households with electronic goods in New Zealand in 1998 and 2002. Almost all types of electronic goods experience an increase in percentages, except for video recorder, which declined by the year 2002.
A couple of items that experiences only a slight increase of percentages by the year 2002 are washing machines and color TV, with washing machines staying stagnant and color TV increasing by merely two percent. Computer, dishwashers, and digital cameras experience a more significant increase, in which it rises by 28% and 37% respectively with the latter representing both dishwashers and digital cameras. Meanwhile, a jump in ownership percentages happened to cell phones, in which it significantly increases by 60%.
The only household electronic good that experiences a decrease are video recorders. By 1998 an average of 75% of households own said device. But in 2002 it decreases slightly by 15%, in which only 60% of households own video recorders.
