The bar chart compares information regarding the proportion of men and women aged 60 and 64 working in 4 different states over 3 decades period from 1970 to 2000.
Overall, it is clear that the categories for male in all 4 counties had the peak percentages for the given period. Additionally, the lowest figure for men was almost the highest for women.
In 1970, the USA was the common place for both male and female employees, consisting of 86% for men and close to 80% for women. In Belgium, the percentage for men was just below 80%, while for women the share was seen in lower figures, around 65%. Regarding the Asian countries, Japan and Indonesia, their proportion in terms of male and female worker were below 75% and higher per cent of 85% for male employees and below 55% and a full of 65% for female workers, respectively.
By contrast, a dramatic drop was observed for both percentages of men and women in all countries in 2000. However, the USA was still a dominant country with a huge number of under 80% for male and around 45% for female workers. Moreover, Japan and Indonesia, on the other hand, accounted for 60% and 65% for man and also almost the similar number of 50% for women, respectively. As far the lowest category among other countries, Belgium experienced the lowest figure by 2000, with the share of 50% for men and close to 10% for women.
