The graphic below depicts the many processes in the fabric production process. The procedure reveals how plastic bottles may be recycled into garments.
Overall, producing garments from plastic bottles is a man-made linear process that consists of 13 phases, beginning with the collection of old bottles and ending with fabric-made clothing.
Bottles of all sizes are collected and brought to manufacturers by truck. Bottles are then put through sorting lines and shredders, where they are chopped into little pieces. The shredded plastic flakes exit the cutting machine’s tapered end and are washed before being sun-dried for 10 hours.
The blocks are then put into crushing machines, which yield little plastic pieces. These particles are carefully cleansed. The clean bits are melted and turned into plastic pellets. The pellets are heated next to make raw plastic material. The raw material is purified and rolled into sheets or filaments. The plastic is then utilised to create a range of finished goods, including t-shirts, pencils, and bags. Finally, after usage, these goods are dumped into recycling bins, completing the closed-loop cycle.
