The maps clearly illustrate the substantial changes that occurred in the riverside area between 1980 and after the dam’s construction. Upon first glance, it is evident that the riverfront underwent significant transformations, including the removal of many natural elements, the construction of a new dam, the addition of electric towers, and a complete transformation of the river itself.
In 1980, the regions that were home to rare plants and animals, as well as forests and architectural structures, were located on the east side of the river, but these features have since been entirely removed. The area that previously supported irrigated land on the east has been replaced by the construction of hotels.
The most notable changes occurred in the southern part of the area. Firstly, a hydroelectric dam was constructed to regulate the river’s flow. Electric towers were erected around the dam to facilitate electricity generation. Additionally, the river was widened in its central segment to enhance water storage and support fishing activities. Finally, the village was relocated to the southeast corner of the area.
