The maps illustrate the internal layout alterations that took place in the museum’s plan between 1998 and 2008.
Overall, the building underwent a comprehensive internal reorganization, primarily characterized by the introduction of a restaurant and fountains, while the café area changed slightly. These internal redevelopments effectively optimized the interior space, with several sections being repurposed or rearranged, often at the expense of the original open floor space.
Regarding the central foyer, significant alterations can be observed during the period shown. The original garden was removed to make way for the installation of fountains. The café was downsized in scale to clear floor space for subsequent facilities. As a result, the WC was moved to the empty space created above the café. In stark contrast to these major structural modifications, the tickets exit/entrance remained situated at the bottom of the museum, next to the coatroom.
Turning to the remaining parts of the layout, which comprise the peripheral sectors along the walls, additional developments occurred. The left permanent exhibition room was converted into a brand-new restaurant introduced on the left side of the museum. The temporary exhibition room was relocated to the upper-right area of the museum, although its size remained unchanged. The original shop was expanded and moved slightly to the right, becoming several separate shops in 2008. Meanwhile, the coatroom was shifted to the left side of the entrance and exit area after the museum was redesigned.
